Here's a list of some of my better originals. I have chord charts available for most of these and recordings for some of them on the music page.
Paws For Reflection (with Todd Hiller) -- a smooth jazz tune a la Dave and Don Grusin and Lee Ritenour
Phileo Funk (Filet 'o' Funk) -- a fusion tune a la Chick Corea Elektric Band
Mexican Mocha -- a latin jazz tune heavily influenced by Chick Corea
Don't Draw The Line -- a pop/rock tune heavily influenced by Toto (a la Rosanna and Pamela)
Alter Your Motifs -- a swing or latin jazz bebopish tune influenced by Chick Corea
Play Tonic Relationships -- a funk/gospel tune influenced by Victor Wooten, the Brecker Brothers, and the YellowJackets (Russell Ferrante)
The Sky Is Falling -- a fusion tune influenced by Andy Milne and Dapp Theory, the Yellowjackets, and Chick Corea's Elektric Band, of course
The Last Time We Met -- a jazz waltz a la Vince Gauraldi
Metermorphosis (Bird on a Schwinn) -- a vocalese-style tribute to Charlie Parker based on Gershwin's "rhythm changes", but done as a jazz waltz
Someday Syndrome -- a fusion tune in 7/4 a la Spyro Gyra or the YellowJackets
Blues In Suspense (For Michael Brecker) -- a jazz tune in 5/4 a la Dave Brubeck, Bud Powell, Chick Corea, and Michael Brecker
Second Chance -- a samba in the style of Chick Corea (loosely inspired by his "Folk Song" with hints of "Armando's Rhumba", etc.)
Upbeat @ Etude -- a bit like something Joe Henderson and Chick Corea would write, with a little bit of black gospel thrown in at the end
Chaos Theory -- a latin/funk fusion tune in 5/4 inspired by Chick Corea, Hiromi, Spyro Gyra, Don Grusin, etc.
Unfinished works in progress:
The Garden of Eden --a partially complete progressive rock or possible fusion tune I need to finish writing someday, heavily influenced by Kerry Livgren (AD/Kansas). I sequenced most of it a few years ago, but somehow lost the file. I never recorded it and I didn't write out a chart, so I've forgotten parts of it. I keep trying to finish it every so often, but usually give up in frustration after a while. Maybe I need to partner with someone to complete it. It has some very cool sections in it that deserve to be performed in a finished song.
